Become a Garden Tour Volunteer:

Our Garden Tour is not only for the visitors, but it also relies on a number of Volunteers that help organize the day and make things go smoothly.

If you have an interest in gardening, but don't have a garden to showcase on our tour, but want to participate somehow, then why not consider becoming a Garden Tour Volunteer and be a member of our organizational team on Tour Day.

Volunteer Participation Criteria:

Tour Volunteers should meet the following criteria:

> Enjoy interacting and educating the visitors.

> Be able to commit to a minimum 4 hour shift on tour day

> Work either 9:30am to 1:30pm or 1pm to 5pm on tour day
(Volunteers may use the balance of the day to tour the other gardens.)

Volunteer Placement at Gardens and Duties:

There are two typical volunteer activities to perform:

Greeter: Volunteer Greeters welcome guests, confirm guests have garden tickets, and facilitate the flow of traffic into the garden. Greeters do not need to be knowledgeable about natives plants, just warm to the general publicVolunteer Greeters welcome guests, confirm guests have garden tickets, and facilitate the flow of traffic into the garden. Garden Assistant: Garden Assistants will help the host gardeners answer questions about the garden, plants, and natural gardening techniques used. (Volunteers will meet with their host gardener and see the garden they have been assigned to prior to the tour.)

Volunteers will receive a volunteer orientation packet that includes details about the agreed-upon garden assignment, a host gardener plant list, a garden tour badge (which is their tour pass) and other related materials.

Greeter and Garden Assistant could be the same person at some gardens.
